*Georgia’s Secretary of State wants an election rules lawsuit against the state dropped. It’s been nearly four years since Republicans passed a new election law that some say is unfair to Black voters. Brad Raffensperger sent a letter to President Trump’s the newly-appointed Attorney General this week asking that the Department of Justice’s lawsuit to be dropped.
*The trial is over for a former Glynn County district attorney. A judge i Brunswick dismissed a case of oath of office violation Wednesday, which came two days after a charge of obstruction was thrown out against Jackie Johnson. She was originally accused of protecting the men who ended up in prison for the February 2021 death of Ahmaud Arbery. He was shot while running through a Brunswick neighborhood.
*Three natural gas companies are joining together in a proposed pipeline project. WMAZ reports the plan is to extend a line that already exists in central Georgia, running from the Alabama-Mississippi line.
