A raccoon found in East Hall recently tested positive for rabies, prompting a rabies alert for the area. Anyone in that area should take precautions and watch for possible exposure, health officials say.
The raccoon was identified as rabid Tuesday. It was found in the Gillsville area of east Hall.
The state Department of Public Health (DPH) says anyone who believes they or their pets may have come into contact with the animal should call Hall County Animal Control at 770-531-6830.
