With the Georgia Department of Revenue’s approval of Hall County’s 2026 property tax digest, the Hall County Tax Commissioner’s Office is preparing to issue approximately 100,000 tax statements for real and personal property. Bills are being mailed today and will be due on December 15 and are available now at HallCountyTax.org.
Property tax bills are typically mailed on September 15 with a November 15 due date. However, ongoing conditions resulting from last year’s legislation, combined with constraints related to the digest preparation software used outside the Tax Commissioner’s Office, affected this year’s timeline. Despite the delay, taxpayers will still have 60 days from the mailing date to pay.
“Property tax season is our busiest time of the year, and we encourage taxpayers to take advantage of the many self-service options available online,” said Tax Commissioner Darla Eden. “Property owners can view their bill, make a payment, and access records anytime at HallCountyTax.org. For those paying online, E-Check remains the most economical payment method and can help taxpayers avoid higher processing fees associated with credit and debit card transactions.”
For property owners with escrow accounts, tax information is made available to mortgage companies for payment processing. However, property owners remain responsible for ensuring taxes are paid by the due date.
For personal property, including boats, aircraft, and business fixtures, the owner of record on January 1, 2026, is responsible for the property tax, even if the property was sold later in the year.
Property owners with a pending value appeal will receive an “Under Appeal” statement.
