Prescribed burn in N. Hall

If you noticed a lot of smoke in the North Hall area Thursday, it was probably from a prescribed burn taking place in that part of the county.

HALL CO. EMA FACEBOOK POST:

“There (was) a prescribed burn of 90 acres, permitted by the Georgia Forestry Commission , off Highland Road…to reduce wildland fuels. This (resulted) in smoke in the area and reduced visibility…”

And depending on the wind direction and how strong the winds were…some smoke from U.S. Forest Service prescribed burns in Towns and Union counties (may have been noticable)…”
