Pedestrian seriously injured, facing charges

A pedestrian who was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in South Hall is facing jaywalking charges.

GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On January 15th, 2024, at 6:31PM, a trooper from the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian on Thurmon Tanner Pkwy, south of SR 53.

Upon arrival, the investigating trooper determined that a 2010 Green Chrysler Sebring struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway from the west side of Thurmon Tanner Pkwy. The driver of Chrysler Sebring, Neil Morrow, age 53, of Flowery Branch, received no injuries from the crash.

The pedestrian, Cheryl Sckupakus, age 62, of Commerce, received serious injuries from the crash. Ms. Sckupakus was cited for not yielding while crossing roadway with no crosswalk.”
