Pair arrested for allegedly throwing rocks at passing cars

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Kenneth Ray Hinds, 18, of Buford, and Ja’quavius Tyquon Maxwell, 20, of Gainesville, were arrested Tuesday night, Jan. 30, on Industrial Boulevard in Gainesville after they damaged a van by throwing rocks at it.

According to a preliminary investigation, Hinds and Maxwell were throwing rocks into the roadway in the area of Atlanta Highway and Industrial Boulevard. The driver of a van called law enforcement when his vehicle was struck and damaged by one of the rocks. He followed the suspects until law enforcement could respond.

During the arrest process, authorities found both Hinds and Maxwell in possession of handguns.

Both suspects were charged with criminal trespass/damage to property, loitering or prowling and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Both Hinds and Maxwell remain in the Hall County Jail, each with a bond of $3,900.”
