One serious injury when police chase ends in crash

A 22-year-ol Gainesville man was seriously injured when the car was in which was being pursued by a Hall County sheriff’s deputy wrecked.

GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On February 4, 2024, at approximately 3:34 AM, Post 6 Troopers arrived at the scene of a single-vehicle crash involving a blue 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The driver of the Jeep, Mr. Roberto Yebra (26, Gainesville), was fleeing and attempting to elude Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies when the Jeep struck an embankment and a curb then overturned multiple times while traveling along Walden Way.

The Jeep’s passenger, Mr. Edgar Yebra (22, Gainesville), was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the crash. The passenger was seriously injured with multiple fractures and was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital for treatment along with the driver, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Serious Injury by Vehicle along with other traffic-related charges by Hall County Sheriff’s Office.”
