One person was injured in one of two traffic accidents in Hall County which occurred within a couple of hours of each other Monday. The injury occurred in a wreck on Price Road; the other accident happened on Three Bridges Road.

GSP NARRATIVE (PRICE ROAD):

“On January 8, 2024 at 4:30pm, Troopers were dispatched to a crash at the intersection of SR 136 (Price Rd) and Belvedere Drive.

Upon arrival the investigation revealed that a Mercury Sable driven by Willa Martin (83) of Gainesville, GA was traveling east on SR 136 (Price Rd).  A BMW 530 IX driven by Samantha Simonton (30) of Gainesville, GA was traveling west on SR 136 (Price Rd).

Martin failed to yield while turning left onto Belvedere Dr.  The mercury struck the BMW in the left front with the left front of the mercury.  After impact, the mercury rotated counterclockwise coming to an uncontrolled final rest on SR 136 facing west (and) the BMW traveled off the north shoulder and struck a mailbox.

Martin was transported for injuries to local hospital.”

GSP NARRATIVE (THREE BRIDGES ROAD):

On Monday, January 8, 2024, at 2:35pm, a Trooper was dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Three Bridges Rd.

The investigation showed a 2021 white Terex fd4000 Concrete Truck, driven by a Mr. Jeremy Sheats, 51 of Monroe, was traveling northbound on Three Bridges Rd. Mr. Sheats improperly stopped on the eastbound shoulder of Three Bridges Rd. As soon as the concrete truck came to a stop the eastbound shoulder gave way.

The concrete truck overturned going down an embankment on the passenger side. Three Bridges Rd was closed off for 2 1/2 hours, so two heavy wreckers could turn the truck upright and pull the concrete truck back on the roadway.

The driver did not sustain any injuries from this accident.”
