STATE PATROL NARRATIVE;
“(Friday afternoon about 3:30) a trooper from the Gainesville Post for the Georgia State Patrol responded to an accident on SR 11 (Cleveland Highway) at Hub Head Road. The accident involved a 2016 Ford Escape and a 2017 BMW 320.
Both vehicles were traveling in the southbound lane of SR 11 and it had turned into a 2-lane passing zone. Vehicle #2 was slowing down in the left southbound lane to make left turn onto Hub Head Road. Vehicle # 1 was traveling too fast for conditions and following too close and struck the right rear of vehicle #2 with its left front.
After impact, vehicle #1 ran off the east side of the roadway, striking a ditch with its right side. This impact caused vehicle #1 to start to roll, striking a sign and a truck that was parked off the roadway, in the passenger’s door. Vehicle #1 came to rest, on its driver’s side, facing east.
Driver of the Ford Escape, Vehicle 2, Leah Casandra Rogers (19) of Cleveland was not injured. Driver of the BMW, Vehicle 1, was a minor from Atlanta and charged with Following Too Close and Too Fast For Conditions. The minor was transported for minor injuries.”
