On the lam since Oct., Gville work release escapee is back behind bars

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Heather Marie Brown, 35, of Gainesville, was returned to the Hall County Jail this past Friday to face charges of escape, removal of an electronic device and probation violation.

Ms. Brown was arrested at the Stephens County Jail on March 8, 2024, just after 8:45 a.m. and booked into the Hall County Jail at 11:47 a.m. the same day.

According to warrants, Ms. Brown was originally arrested on May 20, 2023 by the Gainesville Police Department. She was approved for the work release program two days later. On Oct. 6, 2023, around 4:30 p.m., Ms. Brown’s employer called HCSO work release to report the inmate had not reported for her job. Deputies responded to Ms. Brown’s last known location – per GPS tracking information from her ankle monitor – and found the ankle monitor in a trash can at the CVS Pharmacy on Jesse Jewell Parkway. Ms. Brown was not located and remained at large until her arrest last week.

Ms. Brown remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.”
