UPDATE: One killed in Habersham accident

UPDATED 10:15 MONDAY MORNING. STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“The investigation determined the 2003 Ford Ranger ran off the roadway and traveled onto the left-hand shoulder.  The vehicle continued its direction of travel, struck a tree, and caused a fatal injury to the driver.”

EARLIER STORY. POSTED SUNDAY NIGHT: A Habersham County woman was killed in a traffic accident Sunday afternoon in the 2500 block of Crane Mill Road in Alto.

HABERSHAM COUNTY NEWS NARRATIVE:

“Units from Habersham County Emergency Services and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office responded to find a single-vehicle wreck with one deceased occupant entrapped.

Habersham County Emergency Services Engine 12, Med 12, Battalion 1, and Captain 1 responded, along with units from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.

Georgia State Patrol Post 7 Toccoa is investigating.

The Habersham County Coroner’s Office also responded.

Coroner Kasey McEntire identified the victim as 22-year-old Chloe Smith Williams of Alto.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time,” McEntire said.

Crane Mill Road was closed between Mud Creek Road and Coon Creek Road beginning at 12:57 p.m. The road fully reopened by just after 2:15 p.m.”
