Oakwood voters will likely be asked to go to the polls next March 12 to fill the city council vacancy created this summer by the death of councilman Dwight Wood.
The city council is expected to finalize the date for the special election when it meets Monday night. It would be held the same day as Georgia’s presidential primaries.
Qualifying would be held Dec. 11-13. The term for the new officeholder would be March 18, 2023-Dec. 31, 2027.
