Oakwood Police: Woman jailed after threatening juvenile daughter with gun

An Oakwood woman remained in jail Thursday morning following her arrest Wednesday on charges of threatening her then 15-year-old daughter with a gun the night of April 27. Kaswana Daughtery, 45, was arrested Wednesday when she went to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) on another matter.

“Our guys arrested her at our headquarters yesterday,” a spokesman for the sheriff’s office said. “She came in for a lost tag, and when deputies were doing paperwork, her warrants came up.

OAKWOOD POLICE NEWS RELEASE:

During a domestic dispute between Kaswana Daughtery and her juvenile daughter…Kaswana Daughtery, walked out to her vehicle retrieved a black 9mm handgun, walked back into the house and threatened her juvenile daughter with the weapon. 

In addition to that incident, further investigation by the OPD Criminal Investigation’s Division, revealed that Daughtery had previously allowed other family members to physically assault and mentally abuse her daughter over an extended period of time while in her presence. 

These crimes were committed at Kaswana’s residence in Oakwood. 

The juvenile victim has been removed from the residence by the Georgia Department of Family and Children’s Services and is in a safe place receiving assistance.”
