A detective with the Oakwood Police Department is on administrative leave after being arrested earlier this month and charged with DUI.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:
“On Aug. 3, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Flowery Branch Police Department officers requested a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Traffic Unit respond to a man slumped over in the driver’s seat of a running pickup truck parked in a parking lot in the 4900 block of Hog Mountain Road. Flowery Branch Police had turned off the vehicle and removed the keys.
Deputies arrived and approached the vehicle. Through the open driver’s side window, they observed open beer cans in the center console and the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the interior of the pickup. Deputies tapped the man’s shoulder, and he woke up. They identified him as Christopher Travis Campbell, 48, of Flowery Branch.
After speaking with Campbell and observing him after he stepped from the vehicle, deputies placed him under arrest for DUI and open container violation.
Campbell was booked into the Hall County Jail and released on $5,830 bond the next morning.”
