Oakwood has begun charging its residents for something that has been a free service for years: garbage pickup. That’s according to a posting on the city’s website, which says the reason is “due to the huge residential growth (in the city), developments, maintenance costs, and landfill fees.” It goes on to say, “the city is no longer able to support this service.”
In addition, the city is now offering trash pick-up to people who live outside the city limits who are located on a street where the city is currently picking up.
