After a stretch of dry weather, scattered thunderstorms return this afternoon and evening, with a few storms potentially becoming strong to severe, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). ” Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph will be the primary threat, in addition to frequent lightning and heavy rain,” the advisory says.
Rain and thunderstorm chances will continue to increase through the weekend and into early next week, “so keep an eye on the forecast if you have outdoor plans.”
