NWS: Eclipse cloud cover forecast

We’re getting mixed signals from the National Weather Service (NWS) when it comes to the cloud cover forecast for our area for Monday’s solar eclipse.

On the other hand, Monday’s forecast from the NWS office in Peachtree City calls for mostly sunny in the Gainesville area.

We’ll update the forecast again Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

The moon is expected to cover about 85 percent of the sun in north Georgia. The path of the total eclipse runs from Texas through New England.
