UPDATE: One injury in wreck involving Hall County School bus

UPDATE 3:30 P.M. TUESDAY:

The state patrol said Tuesday afternoon one person was injured in the Monday traffic accident at Atlanta Highway and Tumbling Creek Road that involved a Hall County school bus. A spokesman for county schools had said earlier in the day there were eight students from Cherokee Bluff High School on the bus but that none were injured.

STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“(The state patrol said) upon arrival (troopers) determined that a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Edgar Otero was traveling east on Tumbling Creek Road and a School Bus driven by Emma Fitzpatrick was traveling south on SR 13 (Atlanta Highway). The Chevrolet turned right onto SR 13 (Atlanta Highway) in front of the bus causing the bus to strike the left side of the Chevrolet with its front.

The Chevrolet continued traveling east and ran off the east side of the roadway and struck an embankment traveling down before coming to an uncontrolled, final rest facing east.

The Ms. Fitzpatrick was taken for treatment of suspected minor injuries…”

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reports that Atlanta Highway was closed at the intersection for about two hours.
