No serious injuries in weekend crash that closed Clarks Bridge Rd. knocked out power

Hall County sheriff’s deputies cited a Lawrenceville driver for a weekend traffic accident on Clarks Bridge Road that left the four passengers in his pickup injured, power out in the area, and the road closed.

Deputies responded to the scene about a half mile north of Bogus Road just before 6:30 Saturday night. They learned Trung Minh Tran, 56, was headed south on Clarks Bridge Road when he decided to pass a slower vehicle.

As he passed the vehicle, Tran accelerated to a speed of approximately 70 miles-an-hour, the deputies reported, and lost control of his vehicle. It left the roadway, traveled up an embankment, striking a tree and power pole before overturning several times and landing in a ditch.

Hall County EMS transported four adult passengers to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, none with serious injuries. Tran declined medical treatment.

Deputies cited Tran for reckless driving, speeding, driving too fast for conditions and passing in a no passing zone.
