A traffic accident Friday afternoon on Cleveland Highway tied up traffic for a time but resulted in no injuries the state patrol said Sunday. It happened about 2:30 near Will Smith Road.
STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“A 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, driven by Tyler David Benner, 20, from Clermont, and a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, driven by Fred Eugene Joy,62, from Gainesville, were traveling north on Cleveland Highway.
Joy was following too closely and struck the rear of the Benner’s vehicle. Both vehicles traveled off the east shoulder of the roadway and overturned.
There were no reported injuries, and Joy was cited for Following too closely.”
