Students from North Hall Middle School (NHMS) swept into the Region 3 Spelling Bee Wednesday by taking the top two spots in the Hall County competition which was held at Johnson High School.
Seventh-grader Murphy Whitlow finished in first place after eleven rounds by correctly spelling “ceremonial.” Second place went to 6th-grader Carter Satterfield. Christopher Inman, a 7th-grader at DaVinci Academy at South Hall Middle School earned an alternate position.
Both Whitlow and Satterfield will advance to the Region 3 competition, which will be held February 24 at West Hall High School.
