Jeremy Medina died several weeks after he was struck in the head by a bat during a practice session.
*Students in the Gainesville City School System’s (GCSS) nine schools return to the classroom Tuesday for the first day of the new school year. The system is expecting a first-day enrollment of about 8,200, the same as last year.
