*Rhonda Wood won the special city council election in Oakwood Tuesday and will fill the remainder of her late husband’s term. Wood bested the only other candidate in the race, Vollley Collins, as she captured about 60 percent of the vote. Dwight Wood died last year.
*The presidential primaries ended as expected with President Biden easily carrying the Democratic ticket here and across the state, with Georgia giving him the delegates he needed to secure his party’s nomination. Former President Donald Trump had no trouble winning Georgia, continuing his headlong push toward the Republican nomination.
