NGMC Gville among top hospitals in country

U.S. News & World Report is out with its annual ranking of hospitals around the country and 17 in Georgia are on it, including Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville and Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming.

The top Georgia hospitals are:

  • No. 2: Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital, Atlanta
  • No. 4: Northside Hospital Atlanta, Atlanta
  • No. 5: Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville
  • No. 6: WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta
  • No. 7: Northside Hospital Forsyth, Cumming
  • No. 8: Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Johns Creek
  • No. 9: Emory University Hospital Midtown, Atlanta
  • No. 9: Northside Hospital Cherokee, Canton
  • No. 11: Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Fayetteville
  • No. 12: Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens
  • No. 12: Piedmont Augusta Hospital, Augusta
  • No. 12: Northside Hospital Gwinnett, Lawrenceville
  • No. 12: Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center, Macon

It’s the 35th year for the magazine’s ranking. There were more than 5,000 hospitals that were evaluated on how they shape up regarding 30 medical and surgical services.
