*Braselton Town Manager Jennifer Scott (pictured) has been reappointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2024 Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Federal Advocacy Committee. The one-year appointment was announced by NLC President Mayor David Sander of Rancho Cordova, CA.
*Gainesville voters will be asked to go to the polls May 21 in a special election to fill the vacancy on the city council created by the December resignation of longtime council member George Wangemann. Wangemann had two years remaining in his term when he stepped down because of his declining health. He died a few weeks later following a lengthy battle with bladder cancer.
