New principal named for NHMS

Superintendent Will Schofield announced Friday his intention to recommend David Wagner as the next Principal of North Hall Middle School. The recommendation will be made at the April 8 Hall County Board of Education board meeting. Wagner will take the place of Principal Kristin Finley, who will retire at the end of the school year.

“I would like to thank Mr. Schofield and the Hall Co. Board of Education for this amazing opportunity, said Wagner. “My family and myself are beyond excited that I will be entrusted to be the next Principal at North Hall Middle School. I have been blessed to spend the last 7 years at West Hall High School as a teacher and assistant principal/athletic director. The West Hall community has a special place in my heart. I will forever be indebted to the community, the faculty and staff of West Hall, and to Dr. Ley Hathcock for everything they have done for me.”

Wagner began his stint in Hall County in 2014 at Flowery Branch High school as teacher and coach. He transferred to West Hall High School in 2017 and assumed the role of assistant principal and athletic director in 2018.

“Over the years, David Wagner has demonstrated an ability to lead and collaboratively develop a culture that supports students,” said Schofield said. “He understands the importance of listening, communicating a vision, and building relationships that serve young people and their families. We are excited for North Hall Middle School and the North Hall community.”

Wagner has a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Maryville College, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee Tech University, and an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.
