NE Ga. virtually drought-free

Northeast Georgia is drought-free except for just a few counties on the South Carolina line.

The U.S. Drought Monitor’s (USDM) weekly report shows the only counties still experiencing drought conditions are Hart, Madison, Franklin, and Elbert counties.

Statewide the percentage of the state now considered drought-free rose from 56.16 last week to 67.6 this week.

Meanwhile, the level of Lake Lanier is up seven-tenths of a foot since last Thursday. It’s now 1068.7.
