N. Hall woman charged with statutory rape

A North Hall woman was still in jail Tuesday morning following her weekend arrest on a rape charge involving a 15-year-old boy.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“At approximately 10:20 Saturday morning…Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a tip that a missing/runaway juvenile may be in the 1300 block of Browns Bridge Road. Deputies located the 15-year-old boy and a woman, 24, in a car in the back parking lot at the address.

Deputies confirmed the male occupant was the juvenile, reported missing out of Greer, South Carolina on Oct. 11. They identified the female in the car as Makayla Hope Porter, of Clermont.

Deputies transported the two to HCSO Headquarters to speak with investigators. According to the initial investigation, the two met at a concert and continued speaking with one another for a few weeks. The juvenile then traveled to Gainesville to meet with Porter. She had sexual contact with the juvenile while he was in Gainesville.

Investigators reached out to the juvenile’s parents, who traveled to Gainesville to pick him up. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Porter on one count of statutory rape (felony.”

Bond has been set at $5,700.
