A Paulding County man accused of killing his wife in 2017 is now in jail after not showing up for trial.
Channel Two reports Jonathan Bates was arrested by deputies in Dawson County earlier this week after a lookout was posted for him when he didn’t show up for trial.
Cynde Bates died from blunt force trauma when she reportedly fell and hit her head during an argument with her husband. The couple had two children under the age of ten who allegedly witnessed the crime. Family members said at the time she was planning to leave him after years of abuse.
The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit arrested Bates with help from the U.S. Marshals Service but would not say where or when or under what circumstances.
