Gwinnett County Police have identified the victim of a homicide in Buford overnight Wednesday as Gavin Fitzgibbon, (32 years old, Buford). The suspect (pictured) is Ian Stewart, (28 years old, Buford). Both lived in the residence, and this was the result of a domestic dispute, police said. Stewart was charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

Gwinnett County Police are investigating a homicide involving two roommates in Buford.
Officers received a 911 phone call from a residence on the 800 block of Roxholly Lane just after 1:30 Thursday morning. When officers arrived, they discovered a man’s body inside the residence. He had been shot at least one time. Officers spoke with witnesses who were inside the home when they arrived and detained one male for questioning.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to speak with witnesses and collect evidence. It appears the incident was domestic related. The name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
