Multi-faceted event to mark grand opening of new WHHS Fine Arts Center

HALL CO. SCHOOL SYSTEM FACEBOOK POSTING:

“We would like to invite you to the West Hall Fine Arts Grand Opening Showcase next Thursday, November 16th at 6:30pm. This showcase will feature the visual arts, chorus, drama, and band programs.

The band program will be world premiering two pieces—RISE for percussion ensemble by Celeena Corbin and NEON NIGHTS for Wind Band by Katahj Copley. Katahj Copley is a rising star in the composition world and has had some significant achievements recently—particularly a piece being performed by the United States Marine Band. So to add West Hall to that list is a true honor!

The chorus program will be featuring several different select ensembles as well as an alumni ensemble conducted by Dr. Tim Gale. You will also get to see many of your fellow faculty members join the chorus for the final selection of the program.

The visual arts program will have a show on display in the lobby featuring artworks by current and past students, including WHHS Alum, now Georgia Art Educators Association President Marea Haslett.

Our thespian troupe will be performing a scene from their award winning production of The Terrible Infants and a sneak peek performance for their upcoming production of Elf Jr.

You will see some familiar faces as Dr. Tim Gale and Mr. Ernie Phillips return to the podium as they are guest conducting both the chorus and band.”
