UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in S. Hall crash; 2nd motorcyclist injured in separate accident

GA. STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On February 22 at 5:03 PM, troopers responded to Poplar Springs Road (GA 332) near East Reed Road in reference to a vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that a gray Honda VTX1800 motorcycle was traveling north on Poplar Springs Road, negotiating a curve. The motorcycle crossed the centerline and struck a blue Toyota Corolla Matrix head-on.

The rider, identified as Charles Massey (30 yoa) of Gainesville, was separated from his motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. The drive of the Toyota sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.

No charges will be filed.”

Meanwhile, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reports another motorcycle rider was injured in a separate incident Thursday when his bike struck a deer.

“The motorcycle laid down on the roadway and skidded into a yard,” a HCSO narrative says. “(Justin Joseph Pace) was tossed a short distance from the motorcycle. A med unit responded to the scene, but Mr. Pace opted to be taken by a private vehicle to the hospital to be treated for multiple lacerations. The deer was killed in the collision.”

That accident happened on Hog Mountain Road.
