In addition to the annual Memorial Day Parade on Green Street, which is scheduled to step off in front of the First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., there are at least two other traditional events taking place in Gainesville Monday.
The Northwinds Symphonic Band will stage its Tribute to our Fallen Heroes concert at 7:30 at First Baptist. This year’s concert will feature guest vocalist Michelle Martin. There is no charge to attend.
In Flowery Branch, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard will conduct a 13-hour vigil at the cemetery at Memorial Park Funeral Home South. It begins at 6:00 a.m. and will continue until 7:00 p.m., stopping at noon for a special ceremony and 21-gun salute.
