*A Buford man, who has been missing since late last year, is the subject of a missing persons alert issued Monday morning. Gwinnett County Police say Robert Emory Haygood, 59, was last seen by family members in December. “They have not been able to contact him since. He does not have access to a vehicle. It is not known what Robert was last wearing,” the advisory says.
*UPDATE: Hall County authorities Monday provided details about the statutory rape arrest that occurred recently. A sheriff’s department spokesman said Ricardo Jesus Torres, 19, is charged with having “sexual intercourse with a female between the ages of 14 and 16 at her residence last March.” The warrant for his arrest, Derreck Booth said, was “obtained this past Friday.” Torres was arrested the same day.
