A metro Atlanta man, Hasani Kamau Widemond, 46, Vinings, drowned early Saturday afternoon at Bethel Pak on Lake Lanier.
“A 44-year-old male was swimming from shore back to his boat when he went under and did not resurface,” state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) spokesman Mark McKinnon said. “Soon after they (first responders) arrived, game wardens were able to locate the subject in approximately 25 feet of water using boat mounted sonar.”
McKinnon added that the Widemond’s body was recovered by using Hall County Fire’s Remote Operated Vessel (ROV) and Forsyth County Fire Department divers.
