The state patrol is taking warrants for the man who was the subject of an unsuccessful manhunt in Habersham County Friday.
The search began when he fled on foot after being stopped by a state trooper near Cornelia Friday, according to the Habersham County Sheriff Office.
He’s described as bald, 5’5″and weighing 160 pounds with tattoos on his neck and upper body and was last seen wearing blue jeans and no shirt. He fled from a site off East Walnut Street near Johnson & Johnson in Cornelia and was last seen crossing Chase Road near Sellers Loop.
A tracking dog and numerous units from the sheriff’s office and local police departments combed the area around Chase Road, Camp Creek Road, and Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway.
While the man is not believed to pose a danger and it is not known if he is still in the area, the public is asked not to approach him if he’s spotted but rather to dial 911 immediately.
