*Two suspects are accused of trying to traffic a massive amount of meth through Georgia. Federal agents say they seized nearly 200 pounds of the drug after pulling over one of the men in Norcross. More meth was hidden at a house. Both men are still in jail awaiting court dates.
*Georgia is moving to grow the music scene. House Bill 14, which has passed the Georgia legislature and is awaiting Governor Brian Kemp’s signature, aims to establish a Georgia Music Office to promote and grow the music industry across the state, with a focus on communities like Macon. 13 WMAZ reports supporters believe the Georgia Music Office could draw parallels to the success of Georgia’s film industry.
*Blueroot Health, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of thousands of bottles of the dietary supplement Vital Nutrients Aller-C due to undeclared egg, soy, and hazelnut allergens. The recall affects bottles sold online in 40 states, including Georgia. Consumers are advised to stop using the products and return them to Blueroot Health for a replacement.
*A raging fire in Roswell displaced 62 people, including four children, and seven pets. The blaze broke out around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Enclave Apartment community. When firefighters from the Roswell Fire Department arrived, they rescued two individuals trapped on a balcony surrounded by flames. There here were no serious injuries, though two people were treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters also rescued two cats and a dog. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents affected. At least 20 apartments were heavily damaged or destroyed, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
