Lumpkin sheriff plans to seek new term; new program at Brenau; Habersham BOC elects chairman, vice-chairman

*Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard has announced plans to run for re-election this year.

*Brenau University has kicked off the semester with a new degree program: risk management and insurance. Brenau is one of four schools in the state to offer this degree program, made possible through a $50,000 course development grant from the Spencer Educational Foundation and support from the Risk & Insurance Management Society. *The Habersham County Board of Commissioners (BOC) has elected board chairman and vice-chairman for the new year. Ty Akins was re-elected chairman and Bruce Harkness was named to a new term as vice chairman.
