5 people, including Lula woman, hurt in multi-vehicle crash

Five people, including a Lula woman, were hurt, two of them seriously, late Wednesday afternoon in a five-vehicle pile-up on Georgia 365 in Habersham County.

GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On March 27, at 5:12 PM troopers responded to Georgia 365 near Demorest Mount Airy Highway in reference to a multi-vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that vehicle 1 (driven by Lauren Wykle, 37, Lula) was traveling north on Georgia 365 in the right lane and vehicle 2 (driven by Vickie Farivar, 65, Mt. Airy) was traveling in front of vehicle 1. Vehicle 2 began to slow down for traffic in the right lane. Vehicle 3 (driven by Stella Wooton, 72, North Carolina) was traveling north on Georgia 365 in the left lane slowing for traffic in the left lane. Vehicles 4 (driven by John Ferguson, 28, Mt. Airy) and 5 (driven by Charles Wright, 77, Toccoa) were stopped in traffic in the right lane.

Vehicle 1 struck vehicle 2 in the rear, this caused vehicle 2 to strike vehicle 4 in the rear and vehicle 4 to strike vehicle 5. Vehicle 1 continued towards the left lane and struck vehicle 3.

…Wykle had minor injuries but (declined) transport. The driver and passenger of vehicle 2 were seriously injured and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Ferguson had minor injuries and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville. The passenger in vehicle 5 only had a (complaint) of injuries and was not transported…”
