Lula City Council votes to remove a member; national recognition for Suwanee

*The Lula City Council voted Tuesday night to remove councilman Gene Bramlett from office for sharing confidential information with the public. At issue was the name of a candidate for Assistant City Manager. Bramlett says he did nothing wrong because the information was already public knowledge. He also said he plans to appeal the council’s decision.

*Suwanee gets a “thumbs up” for civic engagement from a national organization. The Voice of the People (VOP) Awards “recognize local governments based on public opinion and community-centered decision-making.”  Suwanee was cited for Excellence in Safety.
