Longtime WDUN talk show host Martha Zoller died Monday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center at the age of 67, Jacobs Media (parent company of WDUN) announced on its website.
Zoller had hosted “The Martha Zoller Show” on WDUN AM 550 and FM 102.9 since 2019 and had previously been a regular on-air voice for the station from 1994 to 2009. She had previously announced plans to step away from daily radio after June 26 due to ongoing health concerns after suffering a heart attack earlier this year.
“I’m stunned,” WDUN host and Jacobs Media General Manager Bill Maine said. “When I spoke with her before the show on Friday, she was full of energy and we were sharing some jokes…More than a great broadcaster, she was a great friend…”
Zoller was also a member of the State Board of Education, representing the 9th Congressional District.
“Martha Zoller was a light,” Jacobs Media owner Jay Jacobs said. “She was one of the most consequential voices in the history of WDUN and one of the most respected communicators our community has ever known. I have personally lost a dear friend, and our WDUN family is shocked and grieving a treasured colleague and friend. The loss we feel today is profound.”
Memorial Park Funeral Home Riverside Chapel in Gainesville will handle funeral arrangements for Zoller.
