Little change in Ga. drought… again

For the fourth straight week, there has been little change in intensity or coverage area of the drought in Georgia, except for a few places in northeast and northwest Georgia that are now considered drought-free.

Hall County is one of several in north Georgia, including the metro Atlanta area, where conditions are considered “moderately” dry, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM). Others are in the LaGrange and Bainbridge areas.

Meanwhile, Lumpkin and Dawson are among the counties where drought-free conditions exist.

The level of Lake Lanier is up a foot since this time a week ago. It’s at 1067.8.
