LCA: Former teacher, coach charged with taking photos, videos under students’ clothing

Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) have charged Joel Ernest Lulinski, 52, of Cleveland, with nearly 30 counts of with using his cell phone to record underneath the clothing of female students at Lanier Christian Academy (LCA) in Flowery Branch where he was a teacher and football coach. The victims are all under 16.

Lulinski is charged with 27 counts of the felony crime of the use or installation of a device to underneath or through an individual’s clothing under certain circumstances.

“The investigation into Lulinski’s activities began on April 2, when a victim reported her
suspicions to school officials. School officials immediately contacted an HCSO deputy, who was
working extra duty at the school,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “The deputy shared the report with the agency’s Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB). Over the course of the next 12 days, investigators determined Lulinski had used his cell phone on multiple occasions to take inappropriate and surreptitious photos or videos of minor children during the course of normal school activities.”

Following questioning by investigators on Thursday, Lulinski was taken into custody at
HCSO Headquarters. He was transported to the Hall County Jail where he remains on a bond of
$175,500.

The investigation is ongoing.
