Lanier Tech SkillsUSA team medals in 3 categories in national competition

Lanier Tech’s SkillsUSA team came home with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals from the recent Post-Secondary National SkillsUSA Competition.

Held during the last week in June, it featured competitors from around the country who competed “in many of the high-demand career-based academic programs offered locally by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG),” according to a news release from Lanier Tech.

The school had seven students place in either the Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal categories. Their names, instructor names, and competitions are as follows:

Gold Medal Award – Career Pathways – Health Sciences:

Silver Medal Award – Esthetics:

Student: Katie Palmieri

Bronze Medal Award – Robotics and Automation Technology:

Bronze Medal Award – Firefighting:

Student: Robby Buice

Instructor: Karen Nowakowski
