*Georgia’s governor is trying to bring in large funding to help recover from Hurricane Helene. Brian Kemp sent in a request Tuesday for over $12 billion from Congress in order for the state to deal with losses. Most of the funding would go towards agricultural assistance and home recovery in more than half of Georgia’s counties. More dollars would go to recover timber and provide counseling.
*Travel experts are predicting record numbers in Georgia for the Thanksgiving and Christmas travel season. Airports are preparing for a few high-volume dates as the Thanksgiving travel season is expected to be the busiest ever, with some airlines already seeing an increase in passengers compared to this time last year. Experts say the busiest days anticipated include November 26th, 30th, and December 1st. Travelers are advised to arrive at least two hours before their flight.
