Jobless insurance claims nosedive

There were double-digit declines in the number of first-time applications for unemployment insurance in Georgia and Hall County in March compared to both February and a year ago.

According to the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL), statewide claims were down 22 percent and 19 percent, respectively.

In Hall County, the number decreased by 34 percent over the month and ten percent over the year.
