Jax Co. water problem; Habersham chase suspect seriously injured

*Some Jackson County water customers primarily in the southern part of the county are experiencing cloudy water. But county officials say it is not a health hazard and they are working to correct it. They say the problem is at Bear Creek Reservoir which has experienced “lake turnover,” a natural process where deeper water rises and mixes with upper layers. 

*An Demorest man was seriously injured Friday night when his dirt bike wrecked as he reportedly tried to get away from a Habersham sheriff’s deputy. The state patrol says the officer had tried to stop Mason Tench on Wheeler Road. His bike crashed on Shook Road and he was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment. The state patrol says he was apparently DUI.
