Ivester Foundation doubles Lanier Tech scholarship endowment

The Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation is doubling the Tim McDonald Scholarship endowment at Lanier Tech to one-million dollars.

The foundation created the program a year ago as an initiative to create generational change and opportunities for Lanier Tech students who reside in Hall County. The scholarship’s namesake honors the achievements of Lanier Tech’s eighth President, Tim McDonald, who has spent his entire career with the college. The endowment has awarded 51 scholarships of up to $1,000 over the past three academic semesters.

The scholarships are awarded each semester based on academic achievement, county of residency, and an outstanding balance for tuition and/or program fees.
