Hall County detectives have filed 132 additional charges against a Gainesville man already jailed in a child‑sex abuse case.
The new charges facing Richard A. Garcia-Hernandez, 45, include seven for producing child sexual abuse material and 125 for possessing it. Warrants were obtained after forensic analysis of electronic devices seized during a search at his home July 2, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Derreck Booth. Garcia-Hernandez was first arrested during that search on charges involving the sexual abuse of a girl under age 10 and has remained in custody since.
Investigators say the material includes five videos and two images showing the man abusing two children. One victim is the same child connected to the earlier arrest. Authorities believe the second victim is not local. The possession charges include the material he produced as well as more than 100 additional files involving children elsewhere.
Booth said Garcia-Hernandez continues to be behind bars without bond and is also being held for immigration authorities.
