Rezoning applications for two industrial sites and two large subdivisions are on the agenda for Monday’s Hall County Commission (HCC) work session.
The county planning staff, however, is recommending denial of one of the requests. It’s for an industrial park in the 5400 block of Winder Highway. “The proposed development is not consistent with the ‘Regional Activity Nodes and Corridors’ future land use designation in the Comprehensive Plan,” the planning staff report reads.
A companion request for a 700-unit housing development in that same area, however, is getting a “do approve” recommendation from planners. Residential Multi-Family is the zoning being sought for that proposal.
A rezoning for property for unspecified industrial purposes in the 4700 block of Cagle Mill Road is also recommended for approval by the planning staff as is a companion rezoning request for a 323-unit housing development. The zoning that is being requested for that project is Residential Mixed.
The county commission meets at 3:00 at the government center.
